We have multiple times talked about the growth in Indian defense sector because of the active involvement of Modi government in promoting it. The defense sector is very important for any nation because it makes it strong against its adversaries. India is covered by many such adversaries who either have already occupied its territories and want to occupy more. Therefore, it is very important for India to be strong in defense sector. India is doing very well in defense sector for last few years and I shared with you the story of Indigenous fighter plane Tejas which is becoming famous with nations. From last eight years, this fighter plane is guarding the skies of India without a single causality. So, we can say that Tejas is the safest fighter planes in India.
Today, I will talk about another milestone of Indian scientists which they have achieved with the help of Russia. I am talking about Brahmos Missile which is the deadliest weapon in India arsenal for which countries like Pakistan and China have no answer. Two years back, a BrahMos missile was accidently fired into Pakistan but the air defense system of Pakistan even failed to detect it. China also fears the Brahmos missile most because it has the potential to penetrate Chinese defense system. Brahmos is a supersonic missile which has the speed of Mach 3. It is powered by Ramjet Engine. India has successful developed all the three variants of Brahmos to attack from land, air and sea. India has exported this missile to Philippines and it is in talks with countries like Malaysia and Vietnam to sell Brahmos to them.
It is also working on the Brahmos 2 and Brahmos NG (Next Generation) variants which will have more speed and range as compared to Brahmos missile. Even before the completion of Brahmos NG variant many foreign nations are interested in buying it because of its superiority against other similar missiles. Brahmos of jointly developed by DRDO, India and NPOM, Russia. The advantage with supersonic and hypersonic missiles is that they are very difficult to intercept by the current air defense systems. In the growth story of Indian defense sector, Brahmos is already writing many golden chapters. This missile not only have the potential to safeguard the interests of India but to provide a big export and earning potential for India.
