How few random calls can leave your bank account empty?

fraud,pishing,financial frauds,

A few years back, I told you about the email fraud present at that time. (Read this post - Need for safety while using email) Today, fraudsters have become much wider in their reach and they are stealing money from people through various other methods.

How a Blank call can empty your bank account?

Recently, a person got ripped off several lakh rupees from his bank account when we received multiple random calls on his number. In this incident, the person first received a few calls on his mobile, he picked up all these calls but no one asked anything on these calls. The person realized that something is fishy or suspicious when he received a message from his bank telling him that a few lakh rupees have been stolen from his account.

This incident highlights the increasing reach of financial or online thieves in India. These people have derived many ways to steal money from the bank accounts of people by various methods and some of their methods are so real looking that nobody notices them as suspicious things. These kinds of online financial frauds are on the rise and they are exploiting the loopholes in the system and public awareness.

Increasing Online financial fraud

Financial frauds are increasing in number and in complexity. The use of the internet has made it easier for fraudsters to commit their crimes as well as make it difficult for law enforcement agencies to track them down.

The most common form of financial fraud is phishing, which is a type of scam that tricks individuals into revealing personal information like bank account details, passwords and credit card numbers.

Phishing scams are often executed by sending emails or texts with links to fake websites that look legitimate but collect the user’s personal information.

The frauds are committed by people who want to take advantage of others. They can be in the form of scams, identity theft, or any other ways that people might try and steal money from you.

Online frauds are a serious problem for consumers. There are many ways that people might get their information stolen when they use the internet and it is important to be aware of how these frauds work.

Financial fraud has become a global phenomenon and in India, they are the most common form of crime. The first step to ensure your account and data is secure is to use strong passwords, change them regularly and never share them with anyone.

My objective in writing this article is that online financial frauds have become very common and the people committing these frauds are becoming very sharp in executing these crimes. Some of these crimes are done by teenage youth under the influence of big fraudsters.

So next time when your phone rings or you shop online on your laptop, you should be extra careful otherwise you may lose your hard-earned money from your bank account.
