Prediction for Loksabha Election 2009 (Opinion Poll)

Watch the latest Post- Prediction Loksabha Election 2024 (Opinion Poll)

Slowly, the Loksabha elections are coming very near; therefore, people want to know who will form the next government in India. Today, we have a number of predictions and polls available in front of us which are telling us some trends of coming Loksabha Election results. All polls are predicting, a fight between two main alliances UPA and NDA in India. UPA is presently in government with the help of the Samajwadi Party, whereas NDA is in opposition. UPA works under the leadership of Congress while NDA works under the leadership of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party). Both alliances want to make the next government in India themselves or with the help of other small parties. There is a total of 543 seats in Loksabha and any alliance needs the support of 272 Member Parliaments (MPs). Most surveys and exit polls are predicting that Congress lead UPA is near to forming a government than BJP lead NDA alliance, though, nobody is sure about the final outcome of the Loksabha elections. There are chances that UPA will win 230-240 seats whereas NDA can win 180-200 seats. UPA has recently become stronger by making a post-poll alliance with Trinamool Congress. Therefore, UPA looks near to making the next government. However, Indian politics have always remained unpredictable which makes it more complex. Below, people can find a combined estimate of all these polls for the forthcoming Loksabha election 2009. For the latest update visit-Final Predictions Loksabha Election 2009 (Exit Poll)

  1. dude,
I suggest you re-analyze your results. I can give you a small example.

Congress will be hard-pressed to get 3 seats in Orissa.

Check this link for winning percentages in Orissa. Most seats, the BJD-BJP combine has at least a 10% vote difference. You can also check local body results for more recent data.

I am from Maharashtra and I am not agree with your predictions about Maharashtra, this time B.J.P Shivsena combine is going to sweep Maharashtra, both will win at least 33 seats out of 48 for sure ....

  3. hey, your poll prediction is interesting. But I feel your figures are exaggerated for congress in some states like in AP Congress not going to cross 15 seats, in Karnataka getting around 7 seats is tough, like wise Delhi too. Its just my intelligent guessing, do you know? This is understanding of Indian politics, last 15yrs my predictions are quite close to the result.

  4. Hi!
As per situation of M.P and chattisgarh congress is doing much better as compared with your predictions in M.P. only congress is winning over 12 seats.

  11. As election get closer and campaign picks up, congress is losing heavily, and people getting doubts about PRP able to form the govt. Only hardcore Chiru fans going along with him, which would be not more than 10 to 15 percentage. It wouldn't be a surprise if chiru like TN vijay gets around 15 percent (cutting more into congress than mahakutami) but far few seats. The poll arithmetic is really fun, if people really vote the way they have been doing last few decades, congress should not even get more than 5 to 8. TDP TRS left around 24 to 32 and PRP 1 to 5.

  20. I think most of the media is working for UPA.Some channels specially IBN7,Star News, Aaj Tak are appearing mouth piece of Congress. What is the reason behind promoting 'Bhahan-Bhai' Priyanka and Rahul ? All the dangerous speeches are made be NDA. And some are made by third front which is not part of UPA now a days. Congress is the party who is responsible for Caste based politics.Caste based politics is like atom bomb and Reiligion based politics is a simple bomb. If u talk about in fovor of Muslims, Christians then u r a secular and if u do it for Hindus then see Varun Gandhi.Well, people have own discretion, they only watch TV and ridicule them. Channels pls stop imposing your theory else u will not be prioritorised.Just deliever news from all sections.

  23. i agree with anand kumar, most of the news channels are biased towards the UPA. probably the UPA is offering something in return. this is not fair. everybody knows that if a BJP leader talks in favour of hindutva that is treated as religious. but the UPA talks against hindutva that is acceptable. people knows the parties under UPA belonging to other religion attack hindus but not a single fingure is pointed at them. that is because they are under the safe umbrella called the UPA.

  25. Kerala is the only state which achived 100% litrecy rate in India. Just I wonder as an outsider how can they vote for congress & left parties?? Becoz kerala is full of Chritians & Muslims so traditionally they don't vote to BJP, is that giving chance to congress & left??

Left is ruling West Bengal over 30yrs now, for any democratic government thats not a small period - still look at the condition of development in WB. This is a clear example that Left is failed miserably in developing the state in all fronts. I wonder what they expect by voting to Left parties????

Congress is no different either - it ruled India over 50yrs, still progress is grim, poverty is all over & fully corrupt too.

I really admire the development done by regional parties in TN and by BJP in Gujatat.

Guys just think more than our own religion!!!!

I believe that till yet god did not excuse bjp walas, because these peoples are not doing as well as country need. They are continue their un necessary mis firing on congress and sonia gandhi both. Another side they using bad words for Respect Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan singh ji. In fact it is not nice. So all right way thinking persons will not caste this time vote to bjp and in such bjp will come more down. I believe as a whole it is impossible for bjp to cross even 100 seats.. because this time bjp is in lose mod. In rajasthan bjp hardly can cross double figer.. means impossible to reach 10 or more. In MP and Chattishgarh bjp will not get expected seats. In karnataka bjp have big hope but they will not score as big as they need. In Maharashtra also bjp will not reach in double figure means cant reach till 10. In gujarat they will get less seats then last parliament election. So In my opinion and as per true analysis of voters feelings bjp getting what they sown. I here not say that congress can cross 200 seats, for congress rajasthan will be biggest gaining state. but in another state congress can find mixed trend. In MP chattisgarh this time congress will be in better position, same will be in karnataka and even in gujarat too. so I think congress will be single largest party on 16th may 2009.

  44. to the person who said Left failed to develop Bengal:

    Here are some facts

    1) After left came to power and did land reforms coupled with Decentralized planning, WB transformed from the lowest growing agricultural state in the 1970s to the highest growing agricultural state in india in the 1980s (Look at any productivity data of NSSo, or World bank, you will find out).

    2) Between 1978 and 1994 Poverty in West bengal came down fro m 60% (percentage below poverty line) to 27.7%, FASTEST RATE OF POVERTY REDUCTION IN WHOLE OF INDIA--see World Bank report 2000 on "India: Policies to reduce poverty!"-- available on the net.

    3) for the whole of 1990s and most of the post 2000 period growth rate of WB is above national average.

    4) Basic social indicators in Wb are much better than states like gujarat and maharashtra, especially rural IMR, Sex ratio and undernourishment.

  51. Have a Smooth Ride- Go on the Thane- Belapur Road Says Ganesh Naik.
While the concretization work at Thane Belapur Road might have brought nightmares to the commuters for the last two years, with the work coming to a closure, everyone is praising NMMC for the smooth drive on the concretized roads. The Thane Belapur Road – has been commuters’ worst nightmares for decades but looks like the nightmare is finally coming to a closure with the closure of the concretization work of the road. The concretization project that was promoted by
Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik and pushed by first Mayor Dr. Sanjeev Naik at the NMMC level.
As the work of concretization is coming to an end, the opinion of the masses, as media surveyed would be music to the ears of the ruling front at NMMC . When media spoke to every segment of commuters and tax paying citizens in Navi Mumbai and Thane, the unanimous opinion is that the drive to and fro from this stretch especially for Navi Mumbaikars and Thaneites was never this smooth, no traffic congestion and time saving.

  54. For me,,,,it is best i think,,,,
both the congress and BJP have go good leader with pure vision on the development of nation..and also there is no doubt regarding the work they had done, which is daring for upliftment for the poor people.
    CURRUPTION;;;0% ON BOTH LEADER ONLY......
...Both party leader dedicated their lifes for the nations and for the development..though there is numberless drawback or demerits on both leaders. Its,may be due to the course of time on politics scenario but,it may be for the good of the nation also""""because how i can say this is jus both the party have no utter interest on erning money for themselves and still i didn't came to know that any of this great 2 leader from CPI & BJP..

In central only congress can effectively run the govt and got its full majority with its allies. during BJP period the pub sector enterprised are forced to amke loss anr theri shares are comedowninh the market now all pub sectors get back and earn more profit by competing withe private sectors. like wise in tamil nadu jaya do all mischieves in govt and put everybody in jail those who tell anything against her she never respect the co politicians and do unfavour to all govt employees not considering any basic development for tamilnadu especially in electrictiy. She never respect the others.in these circumstances everybody from north drying about the tamilelem is the amin factor working in the election. it is totally fault the present dmk aliies got stern majority in tamilandu and the mps from tamilnadu willbe key factor for making the central govt. tamil people never allow central govt to hang

  58. Hi,
according to most of the blogs on different websites following can be number of seats on direct BJP - congress states.
    Maharashtra - 28 - BJP+
    20 - Cong +
    Gujarat - 20 BJP
    6 Cong
    Rajasthan - BJP - 11
    Cong - 14
    Delhi - BJP - 1
    Cong -6
    Haryana - 6 - BJP +
    4 - Cong
    Himachal - 3 - BJP
    1 - Cong
    Uttarakhand - 3 - BJP
    2 - Cong
    Punjab - 8 - BJP+
    5 - Cong
    Madhya Pradesh - 21 - BJP
    8 - Cong
    Chattisgarh - 9 - BJP
    2 - Cong
    Karnataka - 18 - BJP
    10 - Cong + JDS
    Assam - BJP+ - 10
    Cong - 4

    Total(Head on BJP Vs. Cong) BJP - 138, Cong - 82
    Other then these Cong has - Andhra(18) + kerala(10) + TN(12) + WB (18)
    = 58 + 82= 140
Mamta banerjee might change sides to NDA.
Here states like Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand, UP, North eastern states are not considered as there is no BJP Vs. head on fight.

This finally shows that Third front will not form government. Either BJP or Cong will form government. And in BJP Vs. Congress, BJP is better placed(BJP 138, Cong 82). But Congress gets benift of Pan India presence which BJP lacks.
Therefore states like Andhra, WB and TN are make break states for Congress not UP + Bihar where congress will get not more then 12 seats and BJP will get not more then 24-25 seats out of 120.

  59. Hi,

I am from West Bengal. It is first in my lifetime I am seeing a strong opposition in Bengal. Otherwise it was always a cakewalk for the Left. My prediction here would be

    TMC 16-18
    Congress 8
    Left 15-17
    BJP 1

  60. Hello,
It seems that in Tamilnadu all the fourty seats may won by Jayalalitha lead AIADMK. The DMK & CONGRESS had spoiled their status by themselves .Jayalalitha's compaign worked out very good for that alliance. People of Tamilnadu are against the family politics of Karunanidhi.

  61. Hi,
The predictions are not correct.Congress will be loosing this time. However BJP also will not sweep the polls.
    My predictions are:
    NDA:182.
UPA:181(this includes the so called forth front).
    Third front:180.
    Tamil nadu predictions:AIADMK and allies:30. DMK&allies:10

  62. I'm from Tamil nadu,
Here the surveys are saying that AIADMK alliance having a chance of winning 32+ seats and DMK alliance(Congress) have no chance of getting majority seats in Tamil nadu, and after election it may support BJP to form Government, as AIADMK head Miss.J.Jayalalitha announced in her Interviews. Her Campaign is getting stronger and stronger day by day.

BJP likely to form the government in 2009

  63. hi..
i think u got ur predictions for kerala entirely wrong...cong is a position to get somewere btw 12-15 seats there and itzz allies-3...so total it will be like 15-18 for upa frm krla....cpm lead left front govt is an entire failure ..u can ask any neutral keralite for this...cpi,jd(S) are not wid cpm candidates and viceversa..also cpm havin many rebels in their strong holds...u have also not given any seat to cong allies(whose seats r damn sure..namely kottayam, ponnani, malappuram)

  64. Your prediction for tamilnadu is entirely wrong. Its going to be a reverse of the last parliment poll. Srilankan tamil issue is going to be the key and owing to that the congress will not even get a single seat. Its going to be a clean sweep to the AIADMK lead group and DMK is going to suffer a heavy damage in this poll even losing its fort chennai(3seats).The DMK congress group may get around 2 or 3

    ReplyDelete
  65. I doubt whether BJP will show a good number in Karnataka. They lost their image immediately after coming to power. But still the fight remains between JD(S) and BJP

    ReplyDelete
  66. If Jayalalitha Wins 10 seats and supports the government in Centre, that Govt will definitely fall in a very short period. So let her support NDA post election!
TN people did feel bad about DMK & Cong on the handling of Srilankan issue but once Jayalalitha said she will form Tamil Eelam if she was voted, every one understood it was a big Joke. The initial Josh of her campaign came down after her seperate Eelam formation announcement. Dont be surprised if DMK gains more seat becos of Jaylalitha's Tamil Eelam Formation announcement.

  70. Jayalalitha has unleashed a negative campaign against Chidambaram, Cong and DMK. Last night there was a power cut in many parts of Chennai which people see as a nefarious act of opposition against the ruling DMK. Chidambaram Son's Car was attacked by AIADMK ( Jaya's) party, this only shows the desperateness in Jayalalitha's camp. Tamilnadu is always against BJP, so Cong I should gain on this Election day lets see....
