When will people stop driving on the wrong side and killing innocent people?

wrong side, driving,

In the span of just three years, I've witnessed a shocking number of accidents on one-way roads caused by drivers recklessly traveling in the wrong direction. I've personally had two near-misses with such irresponsible motorists. I was fortunate to be vigilant and escape unscathed, but not everyone is so lucky—countless lives are lost due to the carelessness of a few.

In their haste to save a few meters, some drivers blatantly ignore traffic rules, endangering themselves and others. Imagine an innocent motorist, diligently following all the regulations, suddenly confronted by a fast-moving vehicle coming at them from the wrong side, with no time to react. This scenario is all too common, and it underscores the urgent need for strong measures to deter such behavior.

Just yesterday, a heartbreaking incident occurred on a highway in Gurgaon, where a 23-year-old biker tragically lost his life after colliding with an SUV traveling against traffic. On one-way roads, we expect compliance with traffic rules; when that expectation is shattered, the consequences can be catastrophic.

Moreover, the police often release these offenders with minimal repercussions, allowing them to repeat their dangerous behavior. This cycle of negligence must be broken. For India to evolve and ensure the safety of its citizens, we must implement stringent road safety standards and enforce them rigorously. It’s imperative that we take decisive action to create safer roads for everyone. The time for change is now.
