After the pager blast incidences in Lebanon, a new debate on the security of mobile communication devices with battery has started. In Lebanon more than 800 people are believed dead due to the explosions in the batteries of the pagers they were using. Most of these people are believed to be the operatives of the Hizballah group and Israel forces are believed to be behind all this. However, so far Israel has not taken any responsibility of this incident. This incidence has highlighted that now people can be targeted through their communicating devices like pagers, mobiles, walky-talky etc. In the today's world, it is very hard to believe existence without these communication devices.
We all are aware of blasts in the batteries of the mobile phones and other things which operates on the battery. In future, we may see more rise in similar incidents where people are killed or wounded by exploding the batteries of their communication devices from the remote location by sending some virus or hacking them. Future war fares are going to be very different from the current wars. Lebanon's pager blast incidence is an eye opener for many people and nations that future wars will not be fought on the frontiers, but the attacks will be hidden and from unknown sources. It is very important for India to strengthen its cyber force so that it can stop such attacks on the nation.
The advantage of India is its good relationships with Israel; therefore, India can greatly benefit from the expertise of Israel in this field. It is good to invest in modernization of weapons, but it is also important to learn new mediums of the defeating the enemy like cyber-attacks. In future, it also becomes important for the countries like India to make most of communication devices in India and avoid exporting them from countries like China because when we export mobiles and other devices then there are chances that they come with some spywares or viruses installed in them. Though, Indian army has already taken steps in this regard.
So now on, it is important to keep our mobiles and other battery-operated devices away from us so that they can't harm us in case of any blast in them.
