Why people migrate from Villages to Big cities? Cost of living in Big Cities and Side effects

Around the world, big cities have become a great reality and today, our major pollution lives in these big cities. Moreover, the expansion of these cities is still on with migration of more people from villages to big cities.

The major reason for the migration of people from villages and small towns to big cities is the availability of employment.

Employment is one of the major needs of every individual because through it he can earn money to live a comfortable life.

Big cities offer an abundance of employment opportunities for different classes of society. From a highly educated person to a laborer, everyone can find a good job in a big city because of good demand of such services. Therefore, many people who migrate to such big cities settle permanently in these cities and increase the size and population of such cities.

Other reasons for migration to big cities are good education, good health care facilities, good development, high lifestyle and other general facilities.

Despite all these benefits, there are many side effects of living in big cities. Today, life in big cities has become so hectic and fast that people become a victim of many mental and physical health problems.

Peaceful Life of Villages
In villages, any person can enjoy fresh air, peaceful atmosphere, slow life, and support of the community; however, such things are absent in big cities.

In many parts of big cities, people live under very inhuman conditions and they encounter problems like very high noise pollution, very high air pollution, unhygienic living conditions, poor drinking water etc.

Many people in big cities live under such bad condition because they can not afford to lose their employment or other benefits of big cities.

In India, most big cities have high levels of toxin in air and water; therefore, people living in such big cities have no option what to inhale bad air and drink poor water.

High levels of mobile radiations and high noise pollutions are some of the other side effects. There are good numbers of people in big cities who become a victim of such side effects of big cities.

However, despite all these problems migration of people from small towns and villages to big cities is increasing because most of governments across the world have failed to develop rural parts.

If this development gap between big cities and villages can be reduced then we can see considerable decrease in migration of people to big cities.
