Easter Island - Mysterious Stone Statues (Vol 2 Hidden Worlds)

I decided to write a series of articles on the lesser know places in the world and I gave it the name Hidden World. In this series, I shared with you information about a lesser known tiny Island nation, Niue. Through this article, you come to know about this tiny but very beautiful island situated 2400 KM away from New Zealand.

This series also represents my list of top places around the world which I will like to visit if I gets a chance to visit them. Today, I will share with you second place of this list which is Easter Island, which is a world heritage site declared by UNESCO for its 887 large stone statues known as Moais. Some of these statues are erected in a line while others are lying half-buried in different parts on the island.

These stone statues are very unique in nature and we don't find similar statues anywhere around the world. These statues are created from volcanic rocks between 1100 to 1680. Today, some of the stone statues are clearly visible while others are pa…

Hard Work Always Pays - Success Mantra 10

In the last article on Success, we discussed the importance of patience in life to attain success. Today, I will talk about Hard work and how hard work always pays.

Hard work is a key ingredient for success because it is hard work which makes you perfect for something and finally, helps you achieve something big in life.  However, lots of people want to achieve success in without putting hard work. Some people give an excuse for not doing hard work that smart work gives success and not hard work.

It may seem true when we are concentrating on the smaller goals of the life; however, no one can or ever achieved greater success in life without putting hard work. So, if you want to achieve big in life, then you can't run away from hard work because it is only hard work which opens new doors for you.

There is a very inspirational story of a person named Dasrath Manji, popularly known as a mountain man, who single-handedly cut off a mountain to make a way through it. It took him 22 years …

Why Blind Faith and superstition are so much Prevalent in India?

From my childhood, I have noticed one thing in people that blind faith and superstition are very common in most parts of India. The blind faith in people is so strong that they don't want to accept the truth even it is brought in front of their eyes. After spending so many years of my life, I still find many people highly dipped in blind faith and superstition. Blind faith can be of many types and it can be on fake Babas, orthodox beliefs or black magic.

I hope that nobody must have forgotten the women hair cutting episode reported from many parts of India. This news recreated a lot of panic among the common people and soon, the number of such news from different parts of India increased. Due to superstition, people started blaming all this on a witch, and the crowd even killed an old woman because they thought she is a witch.

The recent episode of Baba Ram Rahim is another example of the blind faith of people on fraud Babas. This fake guru was sentenced to 20 years rigorous punis…

How to correctly and Easily Remember Difficult English Words?

Today, English has emerged as a global language because of wide presence of it around the world. Therefore, in countries where English is not a native language, people try to learn English so that they can increase their reach of communication. However, for the people who are born in countries where English is not a native language, it is not an easy task to become proficient in English because of many complexities of English Language and lack of hold on English Vocabulary.

The First part in speaking or understanding English is to have good knowledge of English words. However, the problem is that there are so many English Words (around 1,70,000 words with new words added every day). So it is very difficult for any person to remember all these words.

The good news is that no one needs to remember so many words because as per research a person with a vocabulary of 3000 words can read and write 95% of Stuff in English. Therefore, it is not a big task and we all can achieve this much lev…

Are our children safe in Indian Schools?

As a parent, I felt compelled to write this article because for every parent safety of his child is most important thing in this world. Moreover, I don't want that any parent on the earth should go through the pain of losing his child. All parents send their children to school to make their future bright, however, if these schools start taking lives of their children then how they can trust these schools?

Last month, I wrote an article on Increasing Trend of Private Schools in India, through this article, I tried to point out few things like Commercialisation of Education and failure of Government Schools in India. Today, my focus is on the safety of innocent children in these high profile private schools. In recent times, many incidents came to light where children either suffered a fatal accident at school or some school employ physically harassed them (including incidences of rape).

Yesterday's incident of Brutal murder of a 2nd class student (7 Yrs old) of high profile Sch…

Population Bomb is much more dangerous than the Atomic Bomb

After the recent Atomic bomb tests by North Korea, we heard strong condemnation of these tests from all major countries in the world. We, people, remain highly worried about the Nuclear bombs because of their high devastation powers but on of the other hand, we are ignoring a much serious bomb which is constantly exploding around us. This bomb is population bomb and it is slowly affecting the whole world, but, sadly we are still not serious about it.

Uncontrolled growth of human population is slowly creating many geological problems by increasing fight for land and better living standards. Like the microbes, we are doubling our self and putting more pressure on the available resources on the earth. If human population bomb is not stopped then it will cause many problems for the mankind and it will cause much more devastation than a nuclear bomb.

We can't allow humans to reproduce and live like the microorganisms or animals, therefore, we need a strong policy on the number of child…

Why and how the net wealth of our Legislators increases so many times?

Corruption is a big problem is our country and even after so many years of independence, we have failed to stop it. Today, corruption has so well integrated itself into our system that it is not an easy task to remove it. People who do corruption are so shameless that they don't bother what others say or how their corruption affects the country.

Yesterday, Supreme Court of India ordered the central government to give the list of all member parliaments whose net wealth increased exceptionally in last few years. As per the ADR (Association of Democratic Reforms) report the net wealth of sitting MPs more than doubled in last 5 years. This report further points out that net wealth of one of current MP increased by 2100%. This is a very serious reports which points out at the high level of corruption in our system.

Our politicians are our leaders and common people get inspiration from them, but When our leader are corrupt, then what we can expect from their followers. Today, most of po…

Death of a senior journalist is an attack on the Freedom of Speech

Yesterday, I was shocked to hear the news of murder of a senior Indian journalist Gauri Lankesh. I strongly believe on the principle that everyone has the right to express his thoughts and this is the guarantee given to us by our constitution. In my last article on similar issue, Why Freedom of Press needs to be maintained at any cost? I expressed similar concerns.

Press is one of the pillars of a true democracy and by destroying this pillar, we are only making life tougher for ourself and others. Before, this episode I never heard about her or nor got any chance to read articles written by her. But still I feel that we need to respect the opinion of everyone even if they are saying something different.

Intolerance is not good for any good society and if it is not stopped soon then we will create a highly intolerant society. Today, it has become a fashion to kill someone over a trivia issue and we can see it everywhere. The respect for law and it's fear has totally disappeared in …

Importance of clean environment

Read in Hindi
It is very important to take care of our environment because our health and our survival on the earth directly depends on the health of our environment. It is very easy to find dirt and pollution at many places across the world and a large population of the world is living in these bad and unhygienic conditions.

People are drinking unclean drinking water and they are breathing polluted air; so, this pollution of the environment is causing many people to suffer from various health problems. Whereas if we live in a clean environment then we can live a healthy life and we can achieve this by understanding the importance of a clean environment.

Sadly, we see very little being done to address this matter and we are slowly creating more polluted spaces on earth. Today, it is very hard to find clean places in several parts of the world. Slowly, the governments across the world are opening eyes to address this issue.

It is very important for every individual in this world to und…

What is Age difference of Abhishek and Aishwarya? Is Age difference really matter in Marriages?

Abhishek Bachan and Aishwarya Rai Bachan hardly need any introduction and they are the most successful and best couples of Bollywood. They married on 20-4-2007 and that time, there were speculations about their marriage that will there marriage be a success or not? Till now their married life is going very smoothly and they become proud parents of a beautiful daughter Aaradhya on 16th Nov, 2012.

The marriage of Abhishek and Aishwarya was unique in one more way. Aishwarya Rai is older than Abhishek Bachan by 2 yrs and 2 months which is the opposite of the general trend in India where mostly groom age is more than a bride. Date of Birth of Aishwarya Rai is 1st November 1973 and Date of Birth of Abhishek Bachan is February 5th, 1976. Even after six years of their marriage, this matter is the main point of many talks and at many places where the age of the girl is more than a boy, then this example is given.

Abhishek Bachan has followed the example of his father Amitabh Bachan who has marri…

Threat to Indian Peafowls (Peacocks)

Read in Hindi A few years ago, it was common in the media to read such news as "20 peacocks were found dead", "Indians could no longer be proud as a house of peacocks", "peacocks were poisoned", "peacocks on the verge of extinction.". During my childhood, it was very common to see peacocks in most rural areas of India; However, as I grew, I noticed a sharp decrease in the number of peacocks. Earlier in the state of Punjab in India, you could usually see peacocks sitting quietly in the fields or on the terrace. However, due to poaching, indiscriminate use of poisons, and pesticides, the number of peacocks has declined sharply and it has become very unusual to see these beautiful birds.
In 1991, the population count for Indians peacocks by WWF India found that after India's independence, the peacock population has halved in India. Killing peacocks is a non-bailable offense in India and anyone who kills peacocks can be imprisoned for three years…
