After the recent Atomic bomb tests by
North Korea, we heard strong condemnation of these tests from all major
countries in the world. We, people, remain highly worried about the Nuclear
bombs because of their high devastation powers but on of the other hand, we are
ignoring a much serious bomb which is constantly exploding around us. This bomb
is population bomb and it is slowly affecting the whole world, but, sadly we
are still not serious about it.
Uncontrolled growth of human population is slowly creating many geological
problems by increasing fight for land and better living standards. Like the
microbes, we are doubling our self and putting more pressure on the available
resources on the earth. If human population bomb is not stopped then it will
cause many problems for the mankind and it will cause much more devastation
than a nuclear bomb.
We can't allow humans to reproduce and live like the microorganisms or animals,
therefore, we need a strong policy on the number of children a family can have.
Today, many problems faced by India and other parts of the world are because of
uncontrolled population growth. Our population is so large that our main
systems fail to deal with them effectively. Now the time has come when we
should concentrate more on quality of life so that those people living on the
earth can have a good life.
Today, large numbers of countries face problems like the high rate
of unemployment, crime, health problems etc. The main reason behind all
this is an uncontrolled growth in population which is still increasing. Though
high cost of living has stopped middle class from having more than two
children, however, the poor and uneducated section of society is still opting
for more numbers of children because of lack of knowledge of birth control
methods and subsidies offered by the government.
Our political parties and governments use the large population of poor as their
vote bank by offering them incentives and subsidies. Due to the vote bank
politics, no party wants to put control on the population.
This action creates a very dangerous situation for the coming years as we see
more and more violent agitations by people for their rights.
We have only two options, either we should control our population and become
ready to generate extra resources for the ever increasing population.
